Autumn: Leaf Close-ups

The forest was too crowded with people gathering nuts, so I decided to give up on the fungi search and grab some leaves for close-ups at home.

Did you know?
Leaves don’t actually change colors, the tree just stops producing chlorophyll so we see the leaves the way they really are. How cool is that?

For this shoot I tested an Ikea SKUBB Laundry bag, bought it over a year ago for a measly 10-20 euros.  Should’ve opened the package sooner, it’s a great tool! Put a flash in or outside the bag and the light is nice and diffused!  A small disadvantage is the seam in the back, you’ll have to use white paper  or limit your camera angle to a 30° to get rid of it.  It also has a hole in the middle (on top), which is perfect to take top shots.
If you can still find it in the Swödisch Störe and you want to have a small and cheap lightbox, it’s worth the investment… or maybe you’re just sick ‘n tired of the fact that your dirty clothes are spread all over the place.
