Liquid collision
It’s been a little quiet on the blog the last few weeks, I’ve been very busy lately with the preparations of the expose photo & video event that will take place on the 8th and 9th of may 2010. But all work and no play, makes me very boring…….so it’s always good to take an (ex)pause. And what better way is there to shoot some images :)
Since long I wanted to shoot 2 drops that collide, the one that splashes up and the other coming down.I’ve tried it with water but without great success.
An important part is that you have to be aware of the viscosity of the liquid. The higher the viscosity, the thicker the liquid and the more chance you’ll have of capturing the beautiful ‘umbrella’-collision. So I tried it with strawberry milk instead and yes, the umbrella (brella brella)! I did had to shoot about 1000 images to get a some right, patience is the key factor here. Take an empty water bottle, create a hole and stick a tube through it. Now use the principle of communicating vessels to let the liquid drop faster and slower. Next, find that sweet spot or better yet…burst the hell out of it!

definitely more to come :)

Om jaloers van te zijn…! En nu zo 2 umbrella’s naast elkaar?
No problem! Mag ‘k photoshop gebruiken? :)
